Got there about 12 ish and there was 2 other guys diving inspirations, they said they did about 48m. Myself and Frank went in, did 32m, total runtime 80 mins practicing using 2 deco bottles with 50% and 100% O2 etc. There's a nice opening at 32m that looks like some kind of man made cave entrance but you're buoyancy would have to be 100% not to kick up the silt and definitely use a line so you can find your way back out. ... This is a very serious issue but more serious if it is ignored. We need awareness. I don't know what we can do as a club to minimize the risks or get problems solved when they occur but i would like to start the ball rolling and hopefully other members will add their thoughts so we can be on top of this if it ever occurs. Until very recently it was commonly accepted that the use of Nitrox would reduce narcosis. On the face of it this seems to make sense. If an increased partial pressure of nitrogen causes narcosis then if we replace some of the nitrogen in the breathing mix with oxygen we will reduce the partial pressure of nitrogen at a given depth. The majority of nitrox courses taught exactly this reasoning until quite recently. However, it is now believed that it's not just ... I've not been around for a couple of weeks and it because I'm sad to say that I'm leaving Cork for pastures new ... Liverpool to start a new job.

Hope to get along for one last time on Thursday night this week and i plan to be in the Old Oak for a long as i can stand on Friday from about 8:30 if you want to make sure I'm really going!!
